The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) celebrated its 28th foundation on Monday.

On the occasion, Sunil Kataria, CEO Raymond Lifestyle (India & International), addressed a gathering in the presence of Director IIMK, Debashis Chatterjee, faculty, staff and students.

Founded in 1996, IIMK was the fifth IIM to be set up by the government and is now one of the fastest growing IIMs, with global accreditations from EFMD (EQUIS) and AMBA (UK).

The institution has been on a roll this year, not only bagging a career-best #3 rank in the NIRF rankings, by displacing IIM Calcutta and upsetting the long established Top 3 order of IIMs in the country, but also debuting in the globally renowned Financial Times (FT) rankings, by placing 72nd among the top 75 institutes that made the cut in the Open Enrolment Executive Education Category.

Sunil Kataria appreciated IIM Kozhikode’s Institutional Vision 2047 of Globalizing Indian Thought. He drew six six major life learnings from his own tumultuous but rewarding corporate career. He encouraged the students to battle their fears and be gritty in their approach to tackle challenges head-on in both their personal as well as professional lives.

Director IIM Kozhikode, Debashis Chatterjee, said IIMK has come a long way to become an institution of national eminence and global impact. 2023 has been a special year as the institute upset the longstanding ‘ABC’ order of IIMs to rejig it as ‘ABK’ in the NIRF rankings and also debuted in the Financial Times Rankings.
